Quick getaway with my best friend and Jill really delivered. Outstanding hospitality and such a wonderful, clean environment. Nothing was too much trouble and theres so much to do in the local area with wonderful beaches and quick access to Aberystwyth only 10 minutes away. Really loved the time spent here. And the Donkeys were total characters too! Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for being a wonderful hostess xx

A very sweet, homely and comfortable caravan in a lovely spot! If you want to get away from it all – no WiFi, no TV – but be close to Aberystwyth and the beautiful Ceredigion coast, this is ideal. We loved being in the caravan, it was very practical and comfortable. We had a fire outside one night (wood supplied, for a small cost) and sat under the stars. Jill couldn’t have been more helpful, and had left flowers on the table as well as milk to get us started on tea and coffee. As this is a caravan, you do have to look replenish your own water and look after your waste – but the joys of what amounts to luxurious camping are worth it.

I stayed a week in the caravan in mid-April. I was blessed with very calm and settled weather which allowed me to explore along the coast and into the mountains. The location is peaceful, private and secluded, being in the grounds of Jill and Andy’s homestead at the end of a narrow windy track, but still within easy access of the coast road which takes you up to Aberystwyth or down towards Cardigan. There are lovely sandy beaches just north at Borth or to the south there are several coves such as at Llangranog. The caravan sits next to a little knoll where you can go and look out over the vast Cardigan bay to the west and the Cambrian Mountains to the east, where you can see the highest point, Plynlimon, and watch the sheep grazing in the surrounding fields. There are paths straight out of the door which join the scenic and undulating Ceredigion coastal path. Jill and Andy are extremely nice people and spent a lot of time chatting with me about life! They showed me their ducks, doves and donkeys.

It took me a couple of days to get used to staying in a towing caravan, having to remember refill the water barrel and change the wastewater, but it’s part of the experience learning how to do all this. The accommodation was cosy enough for relaxing, with plenty of utensils, cutlery etc and storage compartments. There were some slight maintenances issues though: The hot water element wasn’t working but I was allowed to use the shower in the house several times. The toilet flush was unfortunately rather weak so I had to help it down with jugs! And the caravan wasn’t quite level, meaning that I had to help the water down the kitchen sink with my hand. Hopefully that will be addressed. For someone not used to a caravan to was also challenging to begin with to set the heating correctly for sleeping, as it’s not truly thermostatic, and whilst the caravan warms up rapidly in the sun (it helped that there were plenty of windows for ventilation), it cools off steadily in the dark.

Overall I highly recommend booking a stay in the Eva’s Caravan as it will be an unforgettable experience.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. The heater element was replaced during your stay and we were happy for you to use our shower in the meantime. Re the toilet flush it is important to top up with water as instructed, there should be no need to to use jugs. The heater must not be used overnight as instructed. The caravan is now level and the water flows down the plughole. Many thanks.
